2023 AICA-INTERNATIONAL ‘CALL’ INCENTIVE PRIZE FOR YOUNG ART CRITICS

Congress Theme:
Contested Infrastructures, Art Criticism and the Institutionalization of Art

Contest CALL:
One essay per applicant with optional images. Previously published essays are
eligible.

Winners Notification:
Winners will be notified by email and announced at the AICA-
International Congress and posted on the AICA-International website. The first place
winner will be invited to read their essay via Zoom at the Congress.

Eligibility:
Critics (commentators, curators, educators) early to mid-career, writing from
anywhere for newspapers, magazines, television, radio, internet

Entry fee:
None

Entry Deadline:
September 1, 2023

Jury Process:
A jury of AICA-International members will read and rank essays.

Cash Prizes:
First Place €1000 (or dollars); Second Place €500 (or dollars); Third Place €250
(or dollars); Certificates will also be emailed.


CONTEST DIRECTIONS

By September 1, 2023, each applicant should submit a single WORD document in
English including:
1. 2000-3000 word count essay with bibliography
2. Optional six images (max) labeled and embedded into essay text
3. 150 word biographical profile/paragraph including writer’s nationality and workplace
