AICA-USA congratulates members Seph Rodney and Elisa Turner and their fellow award recipients on receiving a 2020 Rabkin Prize for Art Journalists.

The Dorothea and Leo Rabkin Foundation, headquartered in Portland, Maine, gives annual prizes to visual art journalists across the country. This is the fourth time the foundation has given its awards. Leo Rabkin was an artist who worked and exhibited in New York City for sixty years. His wife, Dorothea, joined with Leo to create a landmark collection of American folk and outsider art. It was Leo’s wish that the foundation assist art journalists who play a vital role nationwide.

According to the foundation, "In this unprecedented and tragic time, the foundation released funding immediately and chose to forego the celebrations and formalities that made this moment so enjoyable and memorable in recent years. We are committed to the support of visual art journalists who, with artists, are the backbone of the art community in every part of the country."

The 2020 Rabkin Prize winners are:

Seph Rodney, Bronx, New York
Elisa Turner, Miami, Florida
Mary Abbe, Minneapolis, Minnesota
Steve Litt, Cleveland, Ohio
Erin Nelson, Atlanta, Georgia
Neil Fauerso, San Antonio, Texas
Amanda Fortini, Las Vegas, Nevada
Sam Lefebvre, San Francisco, California
Jerry Cullum, Atlanta, Georgia
