Public Talk: "The Undefining of Art and Its Consequences"

AICA-USA member Michelle Marder Kamhi spoke on "The Undefining of Art and Its Consequences" at the Wackers Academy in Amsterdam on July 10th. Challenging both modernist and postmodernist views propounded by influential critics, her talk offered a theory in support of traditional representational art, based in part on material from her recent book, Who Says That's Art?. Faculty and students from the academy, which is devoted to classical training in figurative painting, drawing, and sculpture, were among the audience members and engaged in a lively discussion following the talk.
